Jaurès

Chambre Jaurés à la Maison d'hôtes à Faugères.
Chambre Jaurés

18 m2 of soft and relaxing colors for guaranteed well-being!

Bedroom inspired by the political figure who made famous the 1st cooperative wine cellar in Maraussan. In 1901, as the 1907 revolt of the winegrowers loomed, a few small winegrowers got together and founded “Les Vignerons Libres” in a shed located on Avenue de Cazouls in Maraussan. Their goal is to vinify and sell the wine together at the best price by freeing themselves from merchants. On May 1, 1905, Jean Jaurès visited the cooperative cellar under construction. His speech was published in L’Humanité on May 7, 1905, from which it follows “Never was the day of May Day sweeter to me, more radiant with hope than in this peasant commune of Maraussan.”

Molière

Molière, une des chambres de la Maison d'hôtes à Faugères
Chambre Moliére

Room offering 25 m2, possible for 3 people, where children and adults will feel at ease.

Inspired by the actor and playwright. The presence of Molière and his troupe in Pézenas, between 1650 and 1656, is one of the glorious hours of its history. The Prince of Conti, cousin of King Louis XIV, lived at that time in this town in the Hérault. This bon vivant manages to attract Jean-Baptiste Poquelin – alias Molière – who then criss-crosses the country with his troupe since their failure in Paris.

Riquet

Riquet, chambre familiale à la Maison d'hôtes à Faugères

The largest room: 27 m2 in warm tones,

ideal for 3-4 people!

Inspired by Pierre- Paul Riquet who designed and built the Canal du Midi between the Garonne and the Mediterranean Sea. Pierre-Paul Riquet was born in Béziers, probably on June 29, 1609 (June 29 being the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul), into a family of notables and merchants. Despite the opposition of his father, at least at the beginning, he did everything possible for the construction of the Canal du Midi, but he died before the end of the work… His two sons completed the work and it was inaugurated in 1681.
